October 16, 2026

Be warned: This is going to be a fairly short update as it was one heck of an uneventful and more importantly unproductive week for me. It was a combination of not feeling too well on a couple of days (don’t worry, nothing serious) and stressing out about things that worked out just fine in the end.

A couple of trips to get some groceries was the extent of our travels. I do want to give a great shout-out to the staff at Jiffy Lube on Dundas Street in London. My Mom and I went to get the oil changed in the Milner Racing #3 Chevrolet but were told that the oil was just fine and there was no need to have an oil change done right away. You know, they could have said “Hey, if they want an oil change, let’s do an oil change, charge them X number of dollars and send them on their way!” Instead they were honest and saved us some dough and the time of waiting for them to do the oil change.

I also did my civic duty and voted in the Zorra Municipal election. I won’t tell you who I voted for but I will say I was disappointed to not see my name on the ballot. Oh well…”Milner for Mayor” will have to wait until the next election. I do encourage everyone to get out and vote in your municipal elections (if your municipality is having one of course).

After a couple of days of writer’s block (maybe), I am happy to report I got back into working on my novel, Secrets and Pawns, writing over 1500 words last night to get to almost 33,500 words in total. Not sure what I plan to get up to this weekend but perhaps this will be the time to pull an all-nighter and see how much farther I can get.

That’s about as much as I have…unless you want me to rant about something political or NASCAR-related. Wait…I know – it’s Trump’s fault that my blog is so short this week. We attempted to import more content from the U.S. but the tariffs made it impractical.

As always, I hope everyone has a safe, healthy and happy week ahead and we’ll meet back here next Friday for my next update.
